Building a Better Web

July 27th, 2007 by Sean

As it has been known to happen, I changed the title of my presentation after it was announced :) . While the topic was still web usability and best practices, I refocused my talk on the issue of “Building a Better Web: Web Standards and Web Usability”. The talk went very well with more than twenty people attending, and participation with almost every member organization that is based in the Kathmandu valley. The group was very attentive and asked great questions. Two hours is a long time to talk – but I think the pace wasn’t too bad and the feedback I received sounds like the participants found my talk useful and understand the foundational concept of web standards-based development and user-centric web design.

It was a pleasure to speak to this group and I wish them the best of luck. FTG Nepal provides their members with great support – so I have no doubt there will be more web development training in their future <smile>

The participants (check out the swank projector I got to use! I was so excited when I learned I was going to be able to use PowerPoint <grin>)
